Cyborg Solo Film Will Be Origin Story
Cyborg was one of the characters who made his live-action debut in Justice League, and for many, he was a standout. But, he was also one of the characters who suffered the most from the cuts that Warner Bros. and Joss Whedon imposed on the film. For in the trailers (and certain behind the scenes images) we were going to learn more about the man who was Victor Stone, but now, we have to wait for that story.
A Cyborg film is slated to be coming in 2020, but there hasn’t been much headway on it in terms of updates. But, actor Joe Morton (who plays Silas Stone, Victory’s father) has said that not only is the film coming, he know it’ll focus on Victor Stone before his accident.
“It will be about him and I, and about the family that he came from, how he becomes the Cyborg, etc.,” he said to ET Online. “But from whence he came, as well.”
He also noted his excitement for the film.
“I think it’s exciting because there aren’t that many, if any, black superheroes,” he said, going on to note how Victor is a very unique character “because there is no alias, because there is nothing for him to hide behind, and that he has to be who he is all the time” the concept can work as an allegory for “what it means to be black in this country.”
