CW Shakeup: Midseason Lineup Revealed
Even with that extra night, The CW ordered more shows than it has room for….so it’s time to play the midseason juggling game again. Come January, some of your favorite shows will be on different nights and others will be MIA entirely, shoved further down the season. It is with a heavy sigh that I point out CW has one again done this to Legends of Tomorrow.
Weirdly, the released schedule doesn’t give you the full story: CW also announced when some shows would return, but not their specific dates. This is what happens in January:
FRIDAY, JANUARY 11
9 pm CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (Midseason Return)
TUESDAY, JANUARY 15
8 pm THE FLASH (Midseason Return)
9 pm ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (Series Premiere)
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16
8 pm RIVERDALE (Midseason Return)
9 pm ALL AMERICAN (Midseason Return)
THURSDAY, JANUARY 17
8 pm SUPERNATURAL (Midseason Return)
FRIDAY, JANUARY 18
8 pm DYNASTY (Midseason Return)
SUNDAY, JANUARY 20
8 pm SUPERGIRL (Midseason Return)
9 pm CHARMED (Midseason Return)
MONDAY, JANUARY 21
8 pm ARROW (Midseason Return)
9 pm BLACK LIGHTNING (New Time Period Premiere)
THURSDAY, JANUARY 24
9 pm LEGACIES (Midseason Return)
They picked January to premiere the Roswell remake, in Black Lightning’s slot. This pushes Black Lightning down six days to a coupling with Arrow….which makes more sense than putting LoT after that downer show. Like we implied, Legends of Tomorrow won’t return until BL runs its season out in April.
Wednesdays will remain unchanged until All-American runs through its first (and the way ratings are going, only) season — it’s got 16 episodes. Jane the Virgin will take its place at that point, beginning its final season. Thursdays will remain unchanged for now, but a new show called “In The Dark” will take Legacies’ slot once the latter’s season is over.
It hasn’t been made clear what CW plans for Friday once Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is finished. iZombie and The 100 are both possibilities. Sunday’s lineup isn’t expected to change at all for the entire season.
