CRKD Introduces Hellboy Themed Nitro Deck and Neo S Controllers For Switch

Earlier this year third-party controller makers CRKD introduced an improved version of their Nitro Deck, a Switch controller that replaces the Joy-Cons on the regular model and adds a few new features. How do you make that better? You stick Hellboy on it, of course.

2024 marks the thirtieth birthday of the US government’s secret underworld-borne weapon, and CRKD is honoring Hellboy’s special anniversary with a new set of controllers that display his mug. The art is not original — the drawings were lifted from the comic book Omnibus Volume 1, Seed of Destruction, but creator Mike Mignola was involved in the production of these things.

The eponymous half-demon comes to life with the Nitro Deck Hellboy Special Edition for Nintendo® Switch™ and OLED Switch™. Engineered to reimagine handheld gaming, the Nitro Deck offers unrivalled precision thanks to the Hall Effect sensors which eliminate stick drift forever, enhancing accuracy and responsiveness. Programmable back buttons provide speedy access to favorite action buttons, and turbo functionality powers up your game for high intensity shooters. Elevating the Switch aesthetic to all new levels, the Nitro Deck Hellboy Special Edition is sure to be adored by any Hellboy fan.

Other than the paint job, the Hellboy Nitro Deck and Neo S controllers contain all the same features as the regular models, including programmable back buttons that can do whatever you want, turbo buttons for shooters, and compatibility with the CRKD controller app.

You can get the Nitro Deck Hellboy Special Edition and the NEO S Hellboy Special Edition today at https://go.crkd.gg/hellboy. They are $59.99 each.

Dude, sick! A Hellboy Switch controller? That's, like, the coolest thing ever! Now I can fight all those creepy monsters with Hellboy right by my side. The art looks awesome, straight outta the comics, and I love that they got Mignola involved. Plus, no more stick drift? That's a game-changer. Programmable buttons and turbo? This is perfect for dominating those online matches. I gotta get my hands on this ASAP. Take my money, CRKD!

Huh, a Hellboy themed controller. Not really my thing aesthetically, but the features sound pretty solid. Hall Effect sensors for no stick drift? That's definitely tempting. Programmable buttons could be handy for certain games, and turbo for shooters is always a plus. Price seems reasonable at $60. I might consider this if I'm looking for a new Switch controller anyway, especially if the regular Nitro Deck gets good reviews.

Hellboy controller? Meh. I mean, it's cool and all, but if we're talking about weird and wacky controllers, I'd rather have that Xbox Deadpool and Wolverine butt cheeks controller. Now that's something I'd actually buy. I can just imagine the reactions of my friends when they see it. Talk about a conversation starter! Plus, it's way more fun than a serious-looking Hellboy controller.

A Hellboy controller, huh? Gotta add that to the collection alongside my other special edition controllers. Even if I don't use it much, gotta have the full set, you know? Wonder if they'll be releasing any other Hellboy themed peripherals like a carrying case or something. Gotta keep my eyes peeled for those too!

I appreciate the limited edition design, but honestly, the artwork looks a bit flat. Wish they could've done something with a more vibrant color scheme or maybe even included some 3D elements on the grip. The features seem decent on paper, but without seeing reviews on the actual build quality and performance, I'm holding off for now.

A Hellboy-themed controller? That's pretty cool, I guess. I mean, I'm more into the performance stuff, but it's a nice touch. The Hall Effect sensors are a definite plus. Stick drift is the worst. Programmable buttons and turbo? Useful for some games, I suppose. But the real question is: how does it feel in hand? Is it comfortable for long gaming sessions? And does it affect input lag? Those are the things that really matter to me. Gotta see some hands-on reviews before I decide.

A Hellboy controller with Hall Effect sensors? That's interesting. I wonder how much of a difference it actually makes compared to traditional analog sticks. The programmable buttons and turbo function are nice additions too. I'd be curious to see how customizable the button mapping is. Also, the controller's build quality is important. Does it feel sturdy? Is it comfortable to hold for extended periods? I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for reviews on this one.
