Call Of Duty Mobile Now Available
What is Call of Duty Mobile? It’s not a new Call of Duty game, but it is a lot of old ones. Think of it as the video game version of a sitcom clip show episode. Remember that time you played the Nuketown map? (audience noises) How about Crash of Hijacked? (more audience noises) They’re all here, playable in familiar modes like Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy and Free-For-All. Also, there’s a Battle Royale mode.
As you play, you’ll gradually unlock classic characters, weapons, scorestreaks and gear from the Call of Duty series. Note that this IS a free-to-play title so we’re sure the app will be pestering you to spend money on them instead.
“Call of Duty Mobile represents a landmark moment for us to bring one of the most successful entertainment franchises in history to the world’s largest platform,” says Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “This is a triple-A, free to play experience that we’re delivering to a whole new audience of fans.”
“Today’s release is a celebration for our community around the world. We’re excited to share the Call of Duty experience with fans like never before,” adds Rob Kostich, president of Activision. “I congratulate the development team at TiMi Studios and our teams here who worked together to bring this great game to life. The community has a lot to look forward to as Call of Duty: Mobile grows and continues. This is just the beginning. There’s much more to come.”
Like, for example, the first global community event, titled “Lighting Up The World” and going on now. Additional content is currently being unlocked as the numbers of players around the world grow. You can check out the progress of the unlocks by looking at the event section of the app. In future weeks and months, look forward to more special events, additional game modes, gear, items and more.
Call of Duty Mobile is available now on iOS and Android. The app is free to play.
