Bocchi The Rock! Recap Part 1 & 2 Hits US Theaters October 6

Originally, Bocchi The Rock! Recap Part 1 & 2 was set to be two separate films. That has changed, according to Crunchyroll and Aniplex, who will be debuting one immense recap film this October in theaters.

The anime’s central character is Hitori “Bocchi” (“Loner”) Goto, an introverted high school girl whose only friend is her guitar. She spends hours each day jamming and uploading videos of herself, but no one notices, and her dreams of playing for a massive audience seen unattainable. That is, until she meets Nijika Ijichi, who likes what he hears and invites her to join his band. Can Hitori get over her shyness and achieve her goals?

Though Bocchi The Rock! Recap Part 1 & 2 is mainly one massive re-edit of Season One, there will be new elements within: the film will be bookended with never-before-seen opening and closing titles with new animation created just for the movie. The opener is a new lyric video, “Tsukinami ni Kagayake” (“Shine as usual”), and the end sequence is a new theme song, “Ima, Boku, Underground Kara” (“Now, I’m going from underground”) by Kessoku Band.

Bocchi The Rock! Recap Part 1 & 2 will only play in theaters for three days, from October 6 through October 8. Check your listings for where it could be playing nearest you. The full episodic season of Bocchi The Rock! is currently on Crunchyroll.
