In the modern era of gaming, many AAA gaming titles from many developers receive DLC. Some of it is small, costume packs, small additions that make the game better. Some are key additions, like new characters or levels, this especially applies to recent fighting games like Mortal Kombat X and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. And then, there are the BIG expansion packs, that add massive amounts of content to the game in such a way that you’re surprised you didn’t have this before. This kind really comes from open world titles like Skyrim, GTA, and games like Dark Souls.
For many though, there has been a wonder whether From Software’s Bloodborne would be getting such an expansion DLC. The game has sold incredibly well, even beyond Sony’s expectation, and as stated above, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 had gotten powerful DLC packs in its run. But for Bloodborne? No word on it…until this tweet from President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida came around:
“So I have been asked by many people if we are making DLC for Bloodborne. I can say… An expansion is coming. More info later this year. :D”
Yay! Expansion confirmed! But it’s important to note he said “later this year” in regards to info, and not “info coming soon”, this probably means that news on the Bloodborne expansion will not be revealed at E3, but later on. We’ll keep you posted.
