Spanish-based indie developer The Game Kitchen has announced that their big project Blasphemous will be launching on modern consoles and the PC early next month.
Blasphemous is a fast-paced action platformer with a pseudo-Catholic flavor. Deep in the land of Cvstodia, a dark curse referred to as only The Miracle has twisted everything and turned the once-peaceful nation into a world of beasts. You play as The Penitent One, an armored soldier with a spiky sword. It’s your duty to hop all over Cvstodia, slash the deadly demons to ribbons, and lift the curse.
“As we put the final finishing touches to what will be an unrelenting experience for players, we’re really proud to be in a position to confirm the September 10th release date for Blasphemous,” says Mauricio García, CEO of The Game Kitchen. “We know the game has been highly anticipated for some time, and we can’t wait to unleash The Penitent One on their perilous journey in just a few weeks’ time.”
Blasphemous launches on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC September 10.
In Blasphemous players take up the role of The Penitent One in the dark gothic land of Cvstodia, where a foul curse, known simply as The Miracle, has fallen. Explore this nightmarish world of twisted religion and discover its many secrets hidden deep inside. Use devastating combos and brutal executions to smite the hordes of grotesque monsters and titanic bosses, all eager to tear you limb from limb. Locate and equip relics, rosary beads and prayers that call on the powers of the heavens to aid you in your quest to break your eternal damnation.
