Blacksad: Second Behind-The-Scenes Video
Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido are the authors of Blacksad, a graphic novel set in a 50s film-noir world populated by animal characters. Now Blacksad is being turned into a video game, to be released this fall….and developers Microids and Pendulo Studios will be taking us through every step, courtesy of their behind-the-scenes videos.
The first of these was released in July. The second was released today. Part One introduced viewers to Canales and Guarnido and the world they created, and explained how Pendulo plans to bring it to life. Part Two goes into the challenges the team faced in pulling this off, and what motivated them to get everything right.
The 50s, New York City: Joe Dunn, owner of a boxing club, is found dead. Meanwhile, rising star Bobby Yale, due to take to the ring for the most important fight of his career, has mysteriously disappeared. Sonia Dunn, Joe’s daughter, takes over the gym and must deal with its financial woes. She hires private detective John Blacksad to investigate Yale’s disappearance. The highly anticipated boxing match of the year is drawing closer and the club’s finances would not survive a no show from Bobby Yale. During its investigation, John Blacksad will find himself swimming with sharks in a universe where corruption is everywhere..
The next video in the series is due out in a few weeks. Blacksad: Under The Skin comes out November 5 for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, XBox One and PC.
