Crypt TV has released Shadow, a short film created as a proof of concept, on their YouTube channel.
A mother and son are grieving the loss of her husband, who she believes perished in an accident. Suddenly…he appears at the door! He somehow survived, but their moment of joy is soon tampered down by the fact that something doesn’t feel right here. Specifically, something seems to have returned with him…a vengeful ghost, wearing his face!
None of this is explained in the short, which was merely created to illustrate how the movie might look. It’s a three and a half minute long sequence where the mother character, played by Valeska Miller, sneaks down to the cellar when she hears a strange noise. Bad idea.
Should Shadow be made into a movie, Miller will be joined by Ryan Scott Greene as her husband / the Shadow, and Nathaniel Howdeshell as her son. Benjamin Howdeshell is the producer and director of Shadow, from a script written by Mike Doyle. Shawn Wallace serves as co-producer.
Will The Shadow become a full-fledged feature? Depends on the reaction. Check out the short below and see what you think.
Nearly dying in an accident, a husband and father – trying to salvage a tenuous relationship with his family – is resuscitated after being dead for three and a half minutes… only to discover that he’s now being haunted by his own ghost. Now independent, this Shadow wants to destroy the thing he loves the most. In order to save his family, this father must dig deep to find the source of the Shadow before everything he loves is destroyed.
