Barotrauma Out Now On Steam
Developers FakeFish and Undertow Games, with the cooperation of publisher Daedalic Entertainment, have just released their multiplayer sci-fi submarine sim, Barotrauma, onto Steam Early Access.
You and your friends must manage the crew of a submarine exploring the depths of the ocean — on Jupiter’s moon Europa! The abundance of vicious alien life makes it a formidable task, only made worse by the incompetence of your crew (they stumble around rather hilariously with ragdoll physics). Learn to work together, operate the complicated sub machinery, and maybe this voyage will have a slim chance of success.
The multiplayer has a “traitor mode” option where one of the players will be assigned a separate mission: to sabotage the current mission! Trust no one!
Key Features:
-
Team up in adrenaline-filled 2D co-op multiplayer for up to 16 players. Or betray your crew and bury them in an icy grave…
-
Master intricate submarine management and crafting systems to survive Europa’s frigid depths.
-
Explore a vast ocean filled with unknown life and other dangerous secrets on an alien world.
-
Play as one of several classes, including captain, engineer, security officer, mechanic and medic.
-
Procedurally created levels and events ensure no two games are the same.
-
Make your own monstrosities! Transform the game via Steam Workshop and create your own submarines, sprites, levels and alien creatures for other players to download.
More content will be added in the months ahead as Barotrauma speeds closer to its final retail form. The Early Access version is available now on Steam; we have TWO trailers showing the game in action.
