North American getting Project x Zone demo

Namco Bandai is planning to release a demo for Project x Zone on the 3DS eshop in North America June 4th. Previously, Europe had a demo released for their eshop, known as Lethal Surprise, which gave players a chance to try out characters from games such as Sakura Wars, Valkyria Chronicles, Space Channel 5, and Cyberbots. The NA demo is called Imperial Demo and will have the same features as Lethal Surprise. Europe is going to get another demo on June 27th, called Dark Hours and will take place in the world of Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. No word yet on whether Dark Hours is poised to appear on the North American eshop, but if this recent turn of events is any indication, then it is very likely to appear sometime in the near future. Project x Zone is set to be released for the Nintendo 3DS on June 25th in North America and July 5th in Europe.

Sega unveils more of Sonic: Lost World

Today, Sega has revealed more of the new Wii U/3DS title Sonic: Lost World. A new trailer for Sonic: Lost World has surfaced. It’s about a minute and a half long, and actually gives the viewer much to chew on. The new characters that were previously silhouetted in the teaser have been shown, and they are no friend of Sonic for sure; they’re seen attacking him relentlessly as he quickly dashes away from them. What is arguably the most exciting part of this trailer is the gameplay itself, and it looks amazing. It’s hard to explain, but basically most would say this title looks like “Sonic The Hedgehog Galaxy”; the platforming appears to be on landmasses that are suspended high above the air, with Sonic sticking to them even as they twist and wind in all sorts of directions. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-sIkDWfccU There is one other comparison that one can make though, and that would be to Sega’s canceled Sonic game for the Saturn, Sonic X-treme. The Banshee is a creature of legend in Irish folklore. It is said to be a fairy woman that visits people, foretelling their deaths. Banshees are known for their blood curdling shrieks that are said to be heard near someone who is going to die soon. Banshees aren’t necessarily evil, at least not the Irish version. Namco Bandai has released a demo for Project x Zone on the EU eshop. The demo is called Lethal Surprise and gives players a chance to use characters from titles such as Cyberbots, Sakura Wars, Valkyrie Chronicles, and Space Channel 5. Also appearing in the demo is a villain from the Sakura War series Ayame. The characters seem surprised that she has yet again returned to confront them; shortly after she summons several monsters to attack your team. It seems that ever since the PlayStation hit the market, the video game industry has become more and more focused on bringing in people who aren’t really into video games. EA has recently announced that Battlefield 4 will be available for both the PS4 and Xbox One this holiday. Battlefield 4 boasts high quality with the power of the Frostbite 3 engine. EA plans on giving customers who pre-order the game an expansion pack known as Battlefield 4 China Rising. The DLC will be offered at no extra cost and is available at launch. Players will explore China in an all new campaign, complete with extra goodies like new military equipment and vehicles. The Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe edition that will appear on Origin is getting the China Rising DLC, plus the bonus items, and Battlefield 4 multiplayer beta. First released in 2002, the Battlefield franchise has delivered quality first person shooter action and multiplayer gameplay throughout the decade. In a joint effort with Razer, MCM London Comicon and European Gaming League  plan to host a UK fighting tournament at Excel London. Taking place at MCM London Comicon, the Razer Fighting Championships will commence on the 25th and 26th of May. Super Street Fighter IV and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 will be playable at the event. Today’s Nintendo Direct has given us some more information on what to expect this year from Nintendo. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata began by talking about Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Figure skating pairs have been added to the game, as well as snowboarding slopestyle. Iwata also goes on to explain the use of the Wii U gamepad, noting that you can use it to share strategies with players in curling and utilize it in biathlon. Next in line is Mario and Donkey: Minis On The Move, which released earlier this May. Further details on the mechanics of the game were elaborated on. Grid sizes can be as small as 3×3 and as large as 7×7, and you’re free to make them as small or as big as you wish within that range. For years I’ve been mystified by Mushihime-Sama. Watching videos of playthroughs and reading about it, I’ve always been meaning to try it out, but never got around to it. This past week I finally got my chance to play Cave‘s famous bullet hell, and I’ve gotta say that I’m every bit as impressed with it as I thought I would be. The story is a bit complex for a shmup, and a little confusing. To put it simply Mushihime-Sama (Bug Princess or Insect Princess in English), is about a 15 year old girl named Reco who is on a mission to stop the giant insects known as koujuu from destroying the people in her village. In the world of Mushihime-Sama, the koujuu share the planet with humans, unfortunately it’s not a completely harmonious co-existence. These creatures produce a substance toxic to humans known as levi-sense, which is spread so far and wide that it makes human life almost impossible. Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate has just been announced for the PS3 and 360. Tecmo Koei Europe plans on releasing the new Dead or Alive title this fall. What’s particularly exciting about this new title is the inclusion of the Ninja Gaiden characters like Momiji and Ryu Hayabusa; complimenting this feature will be a slew of Ninja Gaiden stages that players will be able to enjoy. Alongside the Ninja Gaiden content is a number of new stages, such as Sky City Tokyo. New modes will also be included in this game, like “Skill Info Plus” and tutorial mode. Considered by Time Magazine to be the most haunted house in America, Whaley House was home to a countless amount of people, and has experienced much activity in its history. The Whaley House was built in 1857 by Thomas Whaley, who was a wealthy businessman. Located in San Diego, it is perhaps one of the most famous homes in all of California. It wasn’t long after the residence was built that Whaley established a general store inside of it; eventually he moved the business elsewhere, as it wasn’t successful in the Whaley House. Eventually, Whaley and his wife Anna had up to six children, Violet Whaley was perhaps the most tragic of all the children. She wedded a con-man who merely used the  marriage as a way for him to collect dowry money. Blazing Star is a horizontal shoot’em up developed by Yumekobo and published by SNK in 1998 for the Neo Geo. It’s most famously known for the humorous translation of text “You fail it! Your skill is not enough. See you next time. Bye Bye!”. Though there is more to this game than hilarious translations, and it’s definitely worth trying out. Blazing Star’s story is pretty typical of your average shmup; two planets known as Mutras and Rumeria waged a war against each other, which eventually resulted in the development of biological weaponry. Eventually this lead to the development of the weapon known as Brawshella, which is in layman’s terms a baby with the ability to shapeshift into deadly and monstrous looking abominations.  Brawshella then goes on to control all life on the planet, including human beings, forcing them to fight and kill each other.
