Arrow Star Unhappy With Split Universes
For a while, Arrow was the only live-action DC Comics property that wasn’t Batman or Superman. In many ways it was because of Arrow that the DCTV Universe exists with so many characters. This notion has caused many fans to be angry with DC Comics over the decision to keep the TV and movie universes separated instead of having them all inhabit the same universe.
This extends to the stars of Arrow apparently, as Willa Holland, who plays Thea Queen, voiced her displeasure at this:
“Marvel does it in their own weird way, the mash between Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the movies and stuff,” she said at MCM London Comic-Con (via Mirror). “So it’s a little upsetting because you know it is possible and it can be done and how good it would be if it was done.”
For Holland, another displeasure was that they had to stop bringing in the Suicide Squad after the movie was confirmed, even though they had them in long before the movie was even thought of:
“When DC found out they were going to be doing their own movie we had to axe all of the characters before we even got to show them,” she explained.”
This included Harley Quinn, who was teased in the first season.
“Once they said no, you can’t really fight against them for it, because they are the people that gave us a job in the first place. You just have to sit there on your hands, like okay, I get it!” she added.
