Up to now, Daedalic Entertainment has just served as a publisher of video games — not a producer of them. That will change with their first in-house commercial product, A Year Of Rain. The game is a real-time multiplayer strategy with co-op, online and offline modes.

If you were able to sign up for the closed beta for A Year Of Rain, now’s your chance — the test is going on now. The response was so great that Daedalic actually increased the number of tester slots. That means if you forgot to sign up, you can still do so…go to https://beta.ayearofrain.com to gain access.

Daedalic took the occasion of the closed beta launch to reveal some new information about the four Heroes of House Rupah, one of A Year Of Rain’s three playable factions. You’ve got Lord Jaidee Rupah, skilled with a sword. Paladin Killian Morningview is a longtime veteran of war, with the scars to prove it. Ranger Morrig Fogvale is a hunter dwarf who lives without fear. And Spark Mage Shen The Scarred envelops her enemies in flame. Learn more about them at https://www.ayearofrain.com/en/game/house-rupah.html.

A Year of Rain is being designed as mainly a two-player experience — a 2v2 mode is the main attraction. An AI buddy will stand in if no one’s playing with you. One of the most interesting modes in the game is “Against All Odds,” which pits just two players against two entire armies.

A Year Of Rain is set to be one of the largest games we have developed to date and marks our first steps into the esports arena. We are aware of the various complex challenges this genre entails. I am proud to be able to support our dev team with their dream project,” says Carsten Fichtelmann, CEO and founder of Daedalic Entertainment.
