‘7th Prince’ Season Two Continues On Crunchyroll

We’re now partway through the second season of the medieval reincarnation anime I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince. Technically there’s more to that title; it’s followed by “so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability” but we’re just shortening it to “7th Prince” for the sake of not wearing out our typing fingers.

7th Prince takes place in a world full of magic, but getting to use it requires a lot of studying AND being genetically lucky enough to be born in a magically inclined bloodline. One sorcerer has a passion for magic but never had the  aptitude for it nor the genes to be truly powerful. But as luck would have it, in his next life he has become Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum. He has all his previous memories AND a strong magical bloodline, giving him a super head start. The anime goes on from there.

The previous season of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince was 12 episodes long, and the second season premiered it first episode last month. Episode 16 premiered yesterday, and here’s Crunchy’s text teaser:

Episode 16: Civil War
With weapons created from Luxal weapons, Sylpha and the group cut down wave after wave of ghouls until they are confronted by the Neuron Blighted, who can control spinal threads. As that battle rages on, at the church’s inner garden, the mysterious priest has Father Harbal by the throat; and Escher, who stumbles upon the scene, finds herself in danger.

Each episode will be subtitled; Crunchyroll has yet to announce when the dub version will premiere. It’s worth noting Season One is available in English, French and Dutch audio. New episodes of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince will debut Wednesdays on the Crunchyroll app.

I think the show is okay. It’s not amazing, but it’s fun to watch when I’m eating dinner. I like how Lloyd is smart and not just another loud main character. The magic is cool. The new enemies are scary, especially that Neuron Blighted guy. I don’t understand everything about how the magic works, but I like that the story explains things slowly. I will keep watching it every Wednesday.

There’s something about 7th Prince that keeps me conflicted. The idea of reincarnation with memory retention is interesting, but I wish Lloyd had more real challenges. It feels like he wins too easily sometimes. The worldbuilding is nice though, especially the religious side. The priest and Father Harbal’s scene hints at a deeper conspiracy, which I like. Escher being in trouble adds urgency, but I hope she becomes more independent and not always someone who needs saving. I’ll stick with the season, but I hope the next episodes slow down and focus more on characters, not just action.

This anime is AWESOME! I’ve been watching since the first episode dropped. Lloyd is such a cool main character. He’s smart, strong, and never acts annoying. That battle with the ghouls in Episode 16 was sick. And the Neuron Blighted design? Super creepy. I paused and zoomed in to check the details. I also really like Sylpha—she’s getting more screen time this season, which is good. I don’t care much about dubs, but I’ll rewatch it if the English voices are good.

What I like most about 7th Prince is how it explores the theme of second chances. Lloyd lived a life where he couldn’t achieve his dream, and now he is doing everything he can to become the best. It makes me reflect on my own life choices. Do we really need a second life to change, or can we start now? Episode 16 was intense, especially with the church subplot. I feel like the anime is subtly commenting on faith and corruption. I’m watching not only for action, but also to think.

Honestly, I think this series is a bit overrated. It’s just another overpowered reincarnation story with a fancy setting. Lloyd is too perfect. No real tension. I watched Episode 16, and yes, the visuals were fine, and the ghouls looked creepy. But what’s the point if the main character never struggles? Even the priest scene was predictable. I’ll keep watching because I started it, but I don’t expect anything deep.

I just started Season Two last week, and I’m almost caught up. I wasn’t sure if I’d like 7th Prince, but it’s growing on me. I didn’t expect so much effort in the magical world rules. I enjoy seeing Lloyd study spells even though he’s already strong. It makes him feel more real to me. The battle in Episode 16 surprised me—it was darker than usual. I hope Escher doesn’t die; I think she has a lot of potential. Also, I’m waiting for the dub so I can recommend it to my little brother who prefers watching that way.

Ah yes, another day, another overpowered anime prince solving problems faster than I can find matching socks. I keep watching 7th Prince because Lloyd’s smug genius energy is weirdly satisfying. Episode 16 had some spooky stuff—spinal threads? Gross, but creative. I don’t even fully get what’s going on at the church, but it looks intense. Honestly, the show’s a bit ridiculous, but it’s fun. And hey, it comes out on Wednesdays, which is usually a boring day, so thanks for that.

I’ve watched a lot of isekai anime, and 7th Prince feels a bit fresher because of how it handles the magical system. I like that Lloyd is passionate about learning. He doesn’t just rely on being powerful. Also, the lore around the Luxal weapons and the church is expanding, and I think that’s going to be important later. Episode 16 moved fast, maybe too fast, but I get why—they’re probably saving time for something big near the finale. I just hope Crunchyroll doesn’t take too long with the dub, because I enjoy rewatching episodes dubbed while multitasking.
