2026 Grammy Winners Include Golden Soundtrack Song

Music’s biggest night made history last night. The 68th Annual Grammy Awards expanded the scope of what is considered award-winning music. This is especially true for the 2026 Grammy Winners for soundtracks.

The Soundtrack 2026 Grammy Winners include “Golden” from Kpop Demon Hunters. The song became the first K-pop song to win a Grammy, giving the animated movie another award.

The other winners made history this year, too. However, you must continue reading to learn who they are.

“Golden” from Kpop Demon Hunters Among the 2026 Grammy Winners

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards made history on February 2, 2026. Its high-octane performances and profound reflections shattered numerous musical glass ceilings no one thought were possible.

The ceremony brought in new categories and revamped the classics. However, the 2026 Grammy Winners in the soundtrack categories stole the show.

Celebrating Soundtracks as a Musical Genre

Music has been part of films for ages, providing the emotional impact that defines our favorite cinematic, television, and gaming experiences. The Grammys celebrate this interplay between music and film through their Best Soundtrack Song, Best Soundtrack Score, and Best Soundtrack Compilation categories.

For 2026, the Best Score and Compilation categories went to Sinners. Ludwig Göransson accepted the awards for the Ryan Coogler thriller, adding to his collection of golden record players, which includes Black Panther and Oppenheimer.

However, despite being the safe pick, Sinners didn’t grab any post-Grammys headlines. That honor went to the 2026 Soundtrack Song Grammy winner.

K-Pop Breaks Ground as the 2026 Grammy Winner for Soundtrack Song

Kpop Demon Hunters ended the night holding the Soundtrack Song crown for the song “Golden”.

Serving as the soundtrack’s lead single, “Golden” won for bringing fresh energy to the soundtrack scene, as well as for its continued dominance on multiple Billboard music charts.

The win also marked a significant moment in Grammy history, and not just for Huntr/x, the fictional girl band that sings the song in the film. That’s because the song is the first Korean pop (K-pop) song to win a Grammy in the history of the ceremony.

A testament to K-pop’s growing global influence and acceptance, “Golden” shows how soundtracks can transcend language and culture. As a result, we can expect to see more K-pop and Korean-related content in American media in the future.

“Golden” Won Only One Spot on the 2026 Grammy Winners

While “Golden” is unmatched in the Soundtrack Song category, neither it nor Kpop Demon Hunters were lucky in the other categories.

The Kpop Demon Hunters Soundtrack was nominated for five categories in this year’s Grammys. However, it was only the 2026 Grammy winner in one of them. It didn’t even get all of the soundtrack categories.  For instance, it lost to Sinners for Best Soundtrack Compilation as mentioned above.

“Golden” lost every non-soundtrack category it was nominated for, as well:

  • The Best Pop Group category went to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for their song, “Defying Gravity”.
  • The Best Remix category went to Gesaffelstein’s remix of Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra”.
  • The coveted Song of the Year category fell to “WILDFLOWER” by Billie Eilish.

The other soundtrack categories went to the Disney+ documentary Music (for Best Music Film) and Sword of the Sea (for Best Video Game Soundtrack).

Still, a win is a win, and K-pop fans are already dancing in the streets over it. Huntr/x’s little golden record player revealed how much the music genre has grown from a regional product to a global cultural phenomenon.

This movie should have never been completed. The tragedy that happened on set is not just an unfortunate accident—it was a complete failure of responsibility at every level. A woman lost her life, and now the film is being marketed like any other Western, as if nothing happened? The industry needs to take a hard look at itself. I don’t care if Baldwin didn’t load the gun—he still pointed it and pulled the trigger. The fact that he gets to walk free while the armorer takes the fall is disgusting.

I disagree ,While the accident was tragic, Rust is more than just that moment. It represents years of hard work from the cast and crew. Shelving it forever wouldn’t bring Halyna Hutchins back—it would just bury the work of everyone involved. If anything, releasing it gives her family financial support and reminds the industry of the real dangers of using firearms on set. People need to stop turning this into a witch hunt against Baldwin.

I don’t get why this movie is such a big deal. If it’s good, I’ll watch it. If it’s bad, I won’t. The tragedy is unfortunate, but it doesn’t change the fact that movies get made for audiences, and audiences will decide if they care. Some people act like watching Rust is a moral decision—it’s just a movie.

This is disgusting. No amount of financial compensation will change the fact that a human life was lost because of reckless negligence. The fact that Baldwin is still allowed to work in Hollywood while others take the fall shows how the industry protects its elite. No one should watch this film. It should have been left unfinished as a statement that safety matters more than profit.

If the film is dedicated to Halyna Hutchins, it could serve as a reminder of why better safety measures are necessary.

Hollywood needs to ban real firearms on set permanently. There is no excuse for this level of negligence in an industry with multimillion-dollar budgets. We have CGI and fake guns, why are real weapons still used? Rust should be the final straw. I refuse to support this film because watching it feels like endorsing the exact problem that led to Hutchins’ death.

The legal situation here is messy. While I understand why people think Baldwin should have faced harsher consequences, the law worked in his favor. The responsibility for firearm safety should not rest entirely on actors, though it’s fair to expect them to double-check. The bigger failure was at the production level—Gutierrez-Reed was inexperienced, corners were cut, and the consequences were devastating. I believe the right people were held accountable, but Hollywood must do better.

This is classic Hollywood covering for its own. If it were a lesser-known actor, they would be in jail right now. The entire case was a joke, with Baldwin pretending he had no control over the weapon in his hands. The justice system failed Halyna Hutchins, and now we’re supposed to reward this project with box office sales? No thanks. This industry is rotten to the core.

There’s no easy answer here. It’s tragic that a life was lost, and it’s understandable why people feel uneasy about Rust being released. At the same time, completely shutting down the project wouldn’t undo what happened. If the film is released with proper context and respect for Hutchins, then maybe something positive can come from it. But Hollywood must make sure this never happens again.
