Mr. Boddy has been murdered, and it could only have been one of the mansion guests. Was it Mr. Green? Ms. Scarlet? Or the gigantic 100-foot-tall fire-breathing lizard? Find out in Clue: Godzilla, hitting hobby store shelves this week!
OK, Op Games did not exactly work Godzilla into Clue that way (but wouldn’t it be something if they did?) Their recent adaptions of the classic game have pivoted away from murders and toward crimes of other kinds in order to be faithful to whatever license the game is being themed around. In Peanuts Clue, for example, you had to determine which kid took Linus’s blanket. In Godzilla Clue you’re attempting to solve a kidnapping: that of Godzilla’s son, Minilla.
The big guy is getting angry and eyeing Tokyo skyscrapers! Stop his rage from getting destructive by figuring out which monster did the deed, and which shadowy group orchestrated the kidnapping…The Xiliens? The Kilaaks? Who knows?

The game comes with a custom themed board, analyst movers and personality cards, Kaiju movers, inquiry cards, action cards, a pad of custom clue sheets, collectible tokens, dice, and a rulebook. And these character stands just HAVE to be seen….

The game might be worth getting just for obtaining little stand-ups of Ghidora, Rodan, Gigan and others. You can use them for this game OR, better, integrate them into the traditional Clue game if you have one. like we suggested.

The characters you play are typical Japanese citizens trying to unravel a conspiracy while avoiding getting crushed underfoot. The press release didn’t name them but we’ve got the reporter, the doctor, the sergeant, the actress…the archetypes seem obvious.
Clue: Godzilla is available now from Toho International and Op Games.
