You ever notice how sometimes you’ll be reading something and your cat will just plop his body over the pages? Or you’ll be hammering away at your keyboard and your cat will decide to crawl over it in a desperate bid for attention? Cats can be pretty darn jealous. A new movie from writer-director Nicholas Tana takes this to its logical conclusion.
Hell’s Kitty tells of a covetous feline that acts possessed and possessive of his owner around women. Nick, a Hollywood screenwriter, discovers his cat has become murderously possessed, and will stop at nothing to rid him of any women in his life. As his life unravels out of control, Nick must find a way to have his kitty exorcised of the demonic spirit haunting her and creating a body count.
As anyone who has owned a cat can tell you, this plot is perfectly believable.

Hell’s Kitty is full of horror references, from the visual homages (see above) to some of the names (Father Damien, Detective Pluto, Dr. Laurie Strodes, Mrs. Carrie). The project began life as a comic book and series of Web shorts before it was made into a movie.
The flick stars Doug Jones (The Shape of Water), Dale Midkiff (Pet Sematary), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Courtney Gains (The Children of The Corn), Lynn Lowry (Cat People), Kelli Maroni (Night of The Comet), Ashley C. Williams (The Human Centipede), Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), John Franklin (The Addams Family) and a cameo by one of the Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
Look out for Hell’s Kitty on VOD platforms March 13, and DVD March 27. Reeeeow!
