Warrior Season 3 Gets Short Trailer, Release Date
Warrior, the TV series that’s part crime drama, part martial arts action spectacle, will return on HBO Max (or just “Max”) a month from now, the streamer announced today. “Wait a minute,” you might be saying, “I don’t remember two seasons of a show called Warrior appearing on HBO Max.”
That’s because it wasn’t originally there. Warrior was originally a Cinemax exclusive. However, Cinemax got out of original content entirely in 2021, leaving Warrior to be picked up by anyone who was interested. Warner Bros took it, so now Warrior is heading from Cinemax to….Max. Also, the last season of Warrior was quite a while ago (Season 2 appeared in 2020).
Warrior is intended as a tribute to Bruce Lee and the kung-fu movies he popularized in the 1970s. Season ended with a massive race riot in the middle of Chinatown, leaving Ah Sahm and the Hop Wei struggling to survive. Meanwhile, Mai Ling will use her government connections to consolidate power.
Warrior stars Olivia Cheng as Ah Toy, Jason Tobin ad Young Jun, Kieran Bew as Bill O’Hara, Dean Jagger as Dan Leary, Tom Weston-Jones as Richard Lee, Hoon Lee as Wang Chao, Perry Yung as Father Jun, Langley Kirkwood as Walter Buckley, Miranda Raison as Nellie Davenport, Chen Tang as Hong, Chelsea Muirhead as Yan Mi, Mark Dacascos as Kong Pak and Joe Taslim as Li Yong. Season 3 premieres on Max June 29.
