WarnerMedia’s Spring Sci-Fi Cable Movie Lineup

WarnerMedia owns TNT, TBS and HBO, and this spring, they’re teaming up to deliver a bounty of on-demand movies for sci-fi lovers. They sent us the list this morning….here are the movies you can currently get on-demand that fall in the sci-fi genre.

Our recommendations: besides the obvious classics, The Abyss still isn’t on Blu-ray and at this rate never will be, so here’s the only way to see it in 1080p. And speaking of Cameron films, Alita: Battle Angel deserves a lot more respect. (It was originally going to have his full involvement, but he had to choose between it and Avatar, and passed the directing duties to someone else.)

Also, if you want a good MST3K-style laugh, The Island is a very mockable Bay film.

  • The Adjustment Bureau
  • Abyss
  • Aliens
  • Alien
  • Alien 3
  • Alien Resurrection
  • Alita: Battle Angel
  • The Bicentennial Man
  • Cyborg
  • Gamer
  • Godzilla: King of the Monsters
  • The Island
  • Midnight Special
  • The Predator
  • Rise of the Planet of the Apes
  • Upgrade
  • The War of the Worlds
  • X-Men: Dark Phoenix
  • X-Men

For those without HBO subscriptions, there is plenty to watch with just cable. TNT and TBS are offering these geeky films on-demand, and they’re not hard to catch on the broadcast feed either (as long as you don’t mind endless COVID-19 themed ads where McDonalds tells you how much they love you right now).
