Utada Hikaru Working On Kingdom Hearts III Soundtrack
Musical superstar Utada Hikaru is working on music for Kingdom Hearts III, confirming that at least one song from the artist will appear on the soundtrack for the game.
The Japanese-American singer and songwriter became a hit in 1999 when she released the Japanese language album First Love. It sold more than eight million copies in the country and has become one of the most successful albums ever released in the region.
While famous in Japan, she has remained less mainstream in Europe and the United States. However, she became more widely known with her work in the previous Kingdom Hearts game. The songs “Simple and Clean” from Kingdom Hearts and “Sanctuary” from Kingdom Hearts II became instant hits and have been remixed into new versions for various released in the franchise.
It’s little surprise that she will be returning for the sequel considering the success she has had from previous instalments, though fans will be happy to get official confirmation for the first time. The upcoming action RPG is currently in development by Square Enix and is expected to release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – though no exact release date has yet been given.
