Schlock distributors Uncork’d Entertainment will be kicking off 2024 with their new revenge thriller Roadkill, which will receive a limited theatrical run in addition to a digital release.
Sometime in the early 80s, a nameless young woman has become lost in a rural area. She picks up a hitchhiker, something authorities warn you not to do, and soon learns there’s a killer on the loose in the area. Is it the guy she’s traveling with, or someone else? All she knows is that she better figure out who the murderer really is before she becomes the next victim.
Roadkill is intended as “a throwback to the classic action-thrillers of the 80s and 90s” — you know, before superheroes took over that corner of Hollywood. The movie stars Caitlin Carmichael, Danielle Harris, Ryan Knudson, Trenton Hudson and Warren Fast….the latter of whom also wrote and directed the picture.
If you live in a heavily populated area, you may get the chance to see Roadkill nice and big. Theatrical releases are planned for Los Angeles, New York City, Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis. You’ll have to check your local listings for showtimes. Everyone else can see it on digital platforms January 5.
Lost while traveling through a rural county in 1983, a young woman crosses paths with a hitchhiker headed the same destination and offers a ride in exchange for directions. Their journey takes a violent turn when the two are caught up in a police manhunt for a fugitive killer. As victims begin to amass and authorities close in, it becomes a fight for survival on the open road.
Featuring fun chase sequences, strong special effects and great kills, Roadkill is written and directed by Warren Fast, who also co-stars.
