Sony PlayStation officially revealed a new multiplayer game mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End today in Plunder Mode. You can check out a new preview for the Plunder Mode in the player below, which features new gameplay footage. In addition, attendees at PAX East this weekend will have the opportunity to try the new mode at the PlayStation booth.
Plunder Mode was previously featured in the multiplayer gameplay for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. It’s similar to Capture Flag, but the key is to throwing an idol statue into your team’s zone on the map. Plunder will be playable on the three maps that were available in the Uncharted 4 Beta and Multiplayer Stress Test: Island, Madagascar City and Rooftops.
However, some changes have been made to Plunder for the sake of Uncharted 4. Now, players will be able to traverse with the idol, which they couldn’t do in the past. Also, previously Plunder was in a five-on-five multiplayer match. Now, Plunder will only take place to four-on-four. So the number has been paired down.
After numerous delays, Uncharted 4 finally arrives on May 10. The game is due out exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console.
