If they could, WB would have put out their own answer to The Avengers immediately after The Avengers premiered, but these things take time to build up. Now that the universe has been methodically built, and we’ve finally been properly introduced to heroes like Aquaman, Cyborg and….err, well, actually….
WB is still kinda jumping the gun with Justice League; half these heroes will be unfamiliar to people who don’t watch The CW (this is a different Barry Allen, by the way). Diana is just barely making the cut, with Wonder Woman being the one super-movie released before this. Will it be good? Will THIS be good? It’s the Snyderverse; deep down you know the answer. But even if it stinks, at least the trailers will be fun.
This morning, Warners released the first of what will be MANY Justice League trailers. There are some terrific action shots here, including one really crazy one involving Aquaman and Batman which I will not spoil. Who knew THAT team-up would work?
These heroes have come together to prevent the army of Apokolips from taking over the Earth. Steppenwolf, one of that planet’s deadliest hunters, has arrived on Earth and is pulling in parademons from portals in preparation for a takeover. WB may be paces behind Disney in many ways, but their one ace in the hole is that they get to use Darkseid before Disney gets to use Thanos (assuming we see him).
Justice League comes out November 17.
