The Dinner Party, the latest horror project from writer-director Miles Doleac (Demons, Hallowed Ground) was first announced last August. A lot has happened since then, but we hear the film is still on track for a June release. Today the final trailer for Dinner Party was published online. It still hasn’t opened in theaters (understandably), but it will finally play in select locations June 5, a few days before its DVD and VOD release on June 9.
An up-and-coming playwright thinks he’s finally broken through when a group of wealthy financiers take interest in funding his play. Broadway could be in his future — or it could just be a setup because these guys are actually cannibals who invite struggling gullible writers to their mansion so they can eat them. Which do you think is more likely?
Miles Doleac says, “The Dinner Party is this delightfully weird, yet poignant piece of horror satire that presents itself as the twisted love child of “Eyes Wide Shut”, “Mother”, the “American Horror Story” anthology, and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. It’s unlike anything I’ve directed to date and certainly a departure from the recent work I’ve done in the realm of Southern Gothic. We’ve gone bolder this time around. We’re swinging for the fences.”
The Dinner Party stats Bill Sage, Lindsay Anne Williams, Jeremy London, Mike Mayhall, Alli Hart, Ritchie Montgomery and Doleac himself. Uncork’d Entertainment is handling the distribution, and it’ll hit DVD and digital June 9.
