If there’s a consensus among Dishonored fans, it’s that 2 1/2 video games weren’t enough. The world Arkane Studios created was so rich and full of detail that it could have supported many more stories, but Arkane has moved on to other projects, and so has publisher Bethesda…the best thing anyone can do is make their own stories up. Luckily, a tool is coming to help you do just that! The Dishonored RPG comes in the form of a heavy 300-page hardbound book and a set of 20-sided dice. It was created by Modiphus, the tabletop veterans who have translated The Elder Scrolls, Star Trek, and Conan the Barbarian to the RPG scene. Within the book’s pages you’ll find everything you need to know about the Empire of the Isles and how to create your own character, from the lowliest bum to the highest-ranking official. Actual characters from the games are also possible, including Corvo and Emily, which…might be unfair given that they’re the most stealthy, powerful and deadly people

Dishonored 2 Set for November 2016 Launch

Bethesda Softworks has officially announced the release date for Dishonored 2. The game is currently scheduled to launch on Friday, November 11. That release date is one week after the launch for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Dishonored 2 is also set to receive a world gameplay premiere at Bethesda’s E3 Showcase on June 12. Dishonored 2 is still in development at Arkane Studios and is a follow-up to the 2012 Game of the Year title. Some new details for Dishonored 2 will also be revealed in Game Informer’s upcoming cover story issue that hits the shelves on Saturday, May 7. The digital edition is available later today. Bethesda will stream the gameplay premiere for Dishonored 2 from the Bethesda E3 Showcase in Los Angeles, California on Twitch at YouTube on June 12 at 7:00 pm PST. Fans were really excited when Dishonored 2 was officially announced at E3 this past June, and it came with a trailer that both mystified and astounded those who are fans of the title. In a special video released by Arkane and narrated by co-creative director Harvey Smith, we get to find out some of the secrets behind the announcement trailer: First up? What can you do in the game that was in the trailer? “Everything Emily [Kaldwin] does in this trailer, you can do in the game.” Yep, everything! This includes going to and walking around the stately manor we see in the trailer, which is apparently a mission level in the game called the Clockwork Mansion. Also though, the man behind the desk in the reveal trailer? It’s Kirin Jindosh, the grand inventor for Serkonos who works for the duke. Microsoft Announces August’s Games With Gold Lineup

Microsoft has announced August’s Games With Gold lineup. There will be a total of 4 games available for you to download for free. For Xbox One, you’ll be able to download Crimson Dragon, a rail shooter where you can ride and take control of dragons in a recently colonized planet. You’ll also be able to download Strike Suit Zero, a space combat simulator which has you play as a fighter pilot in a massive war against the combined forces of the space colonies. Both games will be available on August 1. For Xbox 360 gamers, beginning on August 1, you’ll be able to download the critically acclaimed Dishonored. Later in the month, starting on August 16, you’ll be able to download Motocross Madness. As always with Games With Gold, you’ll need to be an Xbox Live Gold member in order to download these games for free. Even if you drop your subscription to Xbox Live, these games will always be yours as long as you download them in the month they are made available.

Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda, few people knew what to expect from Dishonored. Was it a stealthy action game?  Did it feature an open world? With Bethesda in the mix there were even questions as to its technical quality and just how much of a hand the giant publisher had in its creation and development. Thankfully for us, most of these questions have been answered with Dishonored’s release and I’m here to say that overall it’s a fantastic game.

Today Bethesda vaguely unveiled Dishonored’s first add-on, tacking on a meager slew of photos to go with it.  Check ‘er out.  The add-on’s official page informs us that this DLC will include ten new maps along with ten new challenges, including, of course, new achievements/trophies.  Plus, you can expect an official, global, online leaderboard so you can officially wallow in self-pity when you find out how bad you truly are compared to everyone else. Yet, while we have basically no decisive information on what exactly this add-on will entail, we do have a decisive price range and release date: December 11th, $4.99/£3.99 /€4.99 (or 400 Microsoft Points) on the 360, PS3, and PC.  Yay, thank you Bethesda for all the help.  We really, really, really appreciate you informing us, your most valued customers, on how to prep our wallets without even saying what it is exactly that you think we ought to prep them for.  Wait – do I sound a little bitter? Arkane Studios offers us all something of a behind-the-scenes look at the art, effort, and talent that has gone into the creation of their soon-to-be-released title, Dishonored.     The developers boast a well-contrived city, and stylized artwork.  But, while many of the promotional clips are beautiful, and the concept art fantastic, some of the in-game shots leave room for criticism at this stage. Still, the steam-punk setting and defined vision are very promising.  Look for more updates between now and the game’s release on October 9th. Video Source

It’s a world full of intrigue, backdoor politics, plague, violence, oppression and magical assassins. So naturally Dishonored is shaping up to be one of the most interesting games of the year and, with any luck, could be something really special.
