Supergirl Season 6 Trailer Released

If things had gone according to plan, we might not have seen Supergirl until Superman And Lois finished its first season run — possibly late spring, early summer, But fortunately, thanks to a COVID scare on the Superman set (I mean, it sucks to be whoever that was, but…), we get Supergirl early! A few episodes from the sixth season will debut in March and April to fill the gap in production from the other show.

This is the last season of Supergirl. We’re gonna miss Melissa Benoist, even if she wasn’t always given the best material to work with. The production of Supergirl has been a mess, with laughable plot twists and disappearing characters aplenty (and don’t get us started on that tedious “lying” subplot between Kara and Lena). But there’s an appeal to Supergirl that Superman lacks…Kara’s just not as stiff as Clark is. Benoist showing up on a future season of S&L would be lovely…though we don’t know at this time what her final fate will be.

Another great character from Supergirl is Lex! This is one of the best Luthors to appear in any Super-Show and Season 6 will be full of him. He’s got a scheme to not just conquer the world, but other worlds as well! There has been an annoying lack of Lex on the Superman show so far; they’ve substituted Morgan Edge as the billionaire antagonist instead. While Edge fits the more muted tone of the new show, we need Jon Cryer to appear there eventually. They cannot recast Lex because they will never do better.

The first new episode of Supergirl’s final season debuts Tuesday, March 30 on The CW. That’s in just one week!
