Super Magbot Coming To Switch And Steam This June
Publisher Team17 and developer Astral Pixel will present their action platformer Super Magbot on Switch and PC soon.
If you thought Celeste was challenging, you haven’t seen anything yet. Imagine that game, but without the innate ability to jump. That’s the challenge put forth by Super Magbot…you maneuver your bot through 2-D environments that resemble areas of Celeste Mountain, but you can only jump with the assistance of bouncy platforms…so you have to make those precious leaps count!
In lieu of strawberries, Super Magbot has Star Fragments….there is one located somewhere in each level, and they require serious skill to collect. Magbot may not be able to jump but he has the power of magnetism, as his name implies. Through a combination of magnet manipulation and bounce platform timing, you just might be able to avoid becoming scrap metal.
The game won’t be out until next month, but you can play a portion of it now through the free demo. The demo contains the first fifteen levels of the game, as well as some challenging moments from later on. The best part is that the demo is available on both Steam and Switch (Switch demos are harder to come by).
Super Magbot will be released June 22 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Posing the question, ‘Are You Magbot Enough?’ the demo today provides a taste of the challenging platforming set to feature in the full game at launch, with global leaderboards present for players to compete and post their best times on social media using the hashtag #RUMagbotEnough. For talented players, Star Fragments are hidden in tricky locations across each level, providing an extra layer of challenge for completionists to savour. These colourful 16-bit worlds hide additional secrets ripe for players to uncover, as Magbot unravels the intergalactic mysteries of the adventure.
