Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios have officially revealed some new screenshots for Styx: Shards of Darkness, the upcoming sequel to Styx: Master of Shadows. The new images showcase some of the game’s huge expansive environments. You can check them out in the gallery below (click on the thumbnails to see the full-size images).
Styx: Shards of Darkness is being created with the Unreal Engine 4 and will feature some brand-new environments. The screenshots feature the game’s antihero, Styx, searching the streets of the City of Thieves. The City of Thieves was built from the wreckages of lost ships, making it quite a unique environment. In addition, Styx will also be able to search the Elven city of Korangar, which is hidden in the mountains. Cyanide is describing the environments as “semi-open,” and they will emphasize verticality for players. This will apparently allow a great deal of player freedom for completing their missions.
Cyanide is promising even more huge environments for players with the sequel. In addition, more of the game’s new features and story elements will be revealed soon. Styx: Shards of Darkness is set to arrive later this year for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
