Street Fighter V Will Not Come to Xbox One
Street Fighter V is easily a much-anticipated title, and Capcom has promised that the new game in the historic franchise will be a welcome sight for both veterans and casual gamers. However, given past history, and logic in some cases, many have wondered if Street Fighter V would come to the Xbox One down the line, instead of just being on the PS4. Well, in an interview with Gamespot, a Capcom representative noted the following:
“One comment we see a lot is that something like a Super Street Fighter 5 is going to come out on Xbox,” said the representative. “But the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run.”
So the game is a true exclusive, which is interesting. Another question was about DLC after the game is released. Many games in the fighting genre, including Mortal Kombat X and recently Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, have had DLC fighters, stages, and more in their post release. Would Street Fighter V do the same?
“We’re not talking about how we’re handling post-launch content, but I can say the relationship with Sony does open doors for things we haven’t been able to do in the past,” the representative said, “The relationship serves a gameplay and development purpose, and not just a marketing value.”
So, no answer yet, but with E3 close, we might get some more details. Fingers crossed. Street Fighter V will be released around March 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
