Street Fighter 6 throws a flaming uppercut with epic Year 2 DLC (and this time, it’s NOT a costume!)
Remember the epic bait-and-switch Capcom pulled last year with Street Fighter 6? Chun-Li trading blows with Yor from Spy x Family? We all got hyped for a crossover, only to discover it was just a costume for your World Tour avatar. Well, fear not, fellow fighters! This time, Capcom’s delivering the real deal!
Street Fighter 6’s Year 2 is shaping up to be a scorcher with the return of the villainous M. Bison and the fan-favorite Elena. But wait, there’s more! We’re getting not one, but TWO surprise guests who’ll definitely leave their mark (or maybe a few bruises) on the competition.
M. Bison: Undying Evil
While I personally yearn for M. Bison’s permanent demise, there’s no denying his immense popularity among fans and players. His pesky soul-transferring ability certainly grants him endless opportunities for resurrection. Remember Cammy
, Decapre, Abel, Seth, and Ed? They were all originally Bison’s clones, created as potential backup bodies. (Let’s be honest, Bison wouldn’t mind inhabiting a female form for a bit of chaos.) It makes you wonder – is his new form another clone, or perhaps some unfortunate soul caught in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Elena’s Return: A Healer with Pants
Elena marks the first character from Street Fighter III to grace Street Fighter 6. Her phenomenal healing abilities were a true nightmare for tournament players back in the day. Thankfully, her new design features pants, a welcome change from her original skimpy attire. With Elena in the picture, Kimberly no longer holds the sole title of “token black female” character. Fun fact: Elena is actually best friends with the fearsome Akuma!
Terry Bogard, the legendary hero from Fatal Fury, is bringing his fiery fury (and maybe a Buster Wolf or two) to Street Fighter 6! And who’s joining him for the brawl? Mai Shiranui, his brother Andy’s fiery (in a whole different way) girlfriend, is ready to light up the competition.
Think about it! Your World Tour avatar getting trained by Terry and Mai? Now that’s some next-level fight school, folks!
This isn’t Terry and Mai’s first time throwing down with Street Fighter characters. They’ve traded blows in Capcom vs. SNK and other crossover titles. Speaking of which, with Capcom and SNK seemingly on good terms, could this be a sign of a long-awaited Capcom vs. SNK 3? Here’s hoping! In the meantime, get ready to crank up the heat with these fiery new fighters in Street Fighter 6!
