Star Wars Battlefront Beta Coming in October
The fans demanded it, and it appeared EA and DICE have listened. Earlier today (Sept. 1), EA and DICE confirmed that there will be a Star Wars Battlefront Beta that will begin in early October. Fans have been steadfastly asking about a beta since the game was officially revealed, and it has finally been confirmed.
The beta version of Star Wars Battlefront will be a technical test featuring the Walker Assault on Hoth, which is a 40-player multiplayer battle of the Rebels and the Empire. You can check out our official E3 preview of that battle here. Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker will also be playable during the Walker Assault mission. The Beta also features the Survival Mission on Tattooine, where players have to team up with a Rebel ally to fight back waves of Imperial forces. Another gameplay mode that will be available for the Beta is Drop Zone, and more details on that will be revealed later on.
EA also dropped that the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience will also be a part of the Star Wars Battlefront Beta. The Battlefront Companion features the strategic card game, Base Command, and lets players earn in-game Credits to unlock Star Cards, weapons and more in the actual game. The Companion will allow players to check game stats, progression, customize load-outs, their appearance, connect with friends, and gather intel. The Companion will be available on the web and in the Apple App Store and Google Play prior to the release of the game.
According to EA, the Star Wars Battlefront Beta will be available to everyone. More details, including the official launch date, are set to be revealed later on. It will require an internet connection and acceptance of a beta agreement. Star Wars Battlefront will have its full launch on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
