Star Fox Zero Could Feature Co-Op, Other Control Options
Star Fox Zero has been getting a lot of attention since it’s “official” reveal yesterday at the Nintendo Digital Event. Sadly, not all of it has been good. Some gamers aren’t thrilled with how it looks currently, and the news that the game won’t feature online multiplayer (at present) isn’t filling many with joy. That being said, project leader Shigeru Miyamoto is open to broadening the scale of Star Fox Zero, in a interview with IGN, he noted some other ways he could please gamers beyond a solid single player campaign, such as local 1v1 battles:
“It’s difficult to have two people playing when you need two screens to play for one person, so it’s definitely something that we’re thinking about,” Miyamoto explained. Or, maybe having a special control scheme that’ll actually allow to people to control one Arwing: “We basically created this game as one you need the GamePad to play, but there is a secret,” he hinted. “There is another option.”
“As one kind of variation, we were thinking about a co-op control scheme,” Star Fox Zero Co-Director Yugo Hayashi added. “Basically one person would control flying the Arwing and the other person would be aiming and shooting. This is something maybe parents and children could be doing together.”
With the game scheduled to come out for the Holiday season, there’s a lot of room to maneuver still. Star Fox Zero will be available for the Wii U.
