Spriggan, A 1989 manga will finally have a modern Anime adaptation
Spriggan is that Manga that had a successful run from 1989 to 1996. Hiroshi Takashige wrote with the assistance of the illustrator Ryoji Minagawa.
It got a cult following longing for a series adaptation. Unfortunately, It never had the Anime adaptation it deserves. It had a hack n slash video game adaptation back in 1999, but that is pretty much it. There was a movie adaptation back in the 90s, but it just became a footnote. People barely remember it like the early 2000s Stardust Crusader movie.
No Anime studio sees its potential to be a full-fledged series. David Production, The Anime studio that gave Jojo the justice it deserves, decided to give life to another legendary manga. Netflix collaborates to bring Spriggan to the screens of Millennial and Gen Z. Spriggan, and its six episodes will be released on June 18, 2022. I know that is not a lot of Episodes, but if it succeeds, it could have an entire run on Netflix like Castlevania. The Anime will be a hybrid animation that will combine 2d and CGI.
Spriggan Official Trailer
Spriggan occurred during the dawn of the Cold War. Out-of-place artifacts or OOPArt got discovered by the archaeologists. These Ancient Artifacts are beyond human intelligence, and they are much more advanced than the technologies we have today. That sounds like the story of the missing continent known as Atlantis.
This ancient technology is so advanced that it destroyed its creators. The Ancient people wrote messages in Hebrew to destroy these artifacts if ever found. Warring factions wanted a piece of these OOPArts.
Countries around the world are feuding to get ownership of these artifacts. With its elite secret operatives known as Spriggans, the ARCAM Corporation and their military branch, the ARCAM Private Army, can prevent these forces from destroying themselves. Spriggan has the potential to invigorate its declining Anime library.
