Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer Arrives
The first solo film featuring the new Spider-Man of the Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts in theaters this summer. However, the first trailer has now debuted online. You can check out the new video in the player below.
It appears that Robert Downey Jr. will have more than just a one-scene role in the film, and he will appear throughout the movie as Peter Parker’s mentor. Additionally, it looks like Jon Favreau is also back as Happy Hogan, which is nice to see. There’s also a brief glimpse of Donald Glover in the trailer, but it’s still not clear who he’s playing. Also, it looks like Tony Stark will be armoring up in his Iron Man suit in the film as well.
The new movie is directed by Jon Watts and produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, with a script by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives in theaters on July 7. Here’s an official synopsis and also an international version of the trailer with some alternate footage:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Wow, Spider-man done right, and Micheal Keaton in the role that people have been trying to put him into for years. This is going to be fantastic. Great blend of comedy and action – or to quote Spidey "That was awesome!"

I have a lot of faith in this movie after civil war, I hope I won't get dissapointed. I feel like this is the first time they get the character right in a movie (except Civil War). Can't wait to see this movie on the big screen.

I love all the Marvel movies and Spider-Man is no exception, so I am pretty pleased to see this coming. I've always wondered why Spidey was never in the Avengers category, so apparently that is about to change? 🙂

I've always been a fan of Spiderman. I love it since the first Spiderman to The Amazing Spiderman. Now they are releasing a new one and I hope it would be as good as the previous releases or even better! I'll be waiting for this 🙂

If Tom Holland is as perfect in his solo movie as he was in the 15 minutes or so he was in Civil War, he's well on his way to being the best Spider-Man yet.
I know some people complain about RDJ/Iron Man being in this, but Downey had great chemistry with Holland in Civil War and I don't mind his inclusion, I just hope his part isn't too big and he doesn't take over too much of the movie.
Also this might be a vain hope, but I hope Keaton isn't too "wasted one-off Marvel villain".

To be honest I've lost count of how many Spider-Man movies I've seen, but one thing is certain, they are not getting any worse. More, watching them with my kids makes them even better. 🙂

Very great news for me as I have been a fan of the Spider man movies. I am really hoping it will be as good or better than the first since that was my favorite out of the ones made. I will be looking forward to this, the blog sure makes it sound exciting.

I agree. Watching the first Spiderman made me a fan of it, that's why I always watch the sequel. And when I heard that they will release a new but different one, including different casts, I was a bit disappointed but didn't judged yet til I see the movie. And yes I wasn't disappointed at all. It was good 🙂
This one seems to be great as well, however there are some people who are complaining about the one they get to play MJ. What do you think of that?

MJ is a really important role as it is the heart of spider. I think both previous actresses did a fantastic job, as it's not just enough a pretty face as Mary Jane has that special twist. To be honest, I don't even know who is playing MJ, do you have an idea @Jasmin Cottontail?

I don't think MJ is in this movie. She might be introduced later.
In the Andrew Garfield movies, Emma Stone didn't play MJ, she played Gwen Stacy, who was Parker's first love in the comics before MJ came along.
