Sony Announcement Incoming Tonight
Sony is gearing up to unveil something tonight (April 26th) on the American television show GTTV, and it’s rumoured to be something huge. There are a few suggestions as to what it could be, ranging from a previously mentioned PS3-exclusive FPS in development from the mysterious Black Troll Studios, to an unknown PS Vita exclusive announcement; the most popular suggestion though, is that Sony will be unveiling a game titled PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale – the PS equivalent to the hugely popular Super Smash Bros franchise on Nintendo consoles.
Now, it could just sound like a bunch of hear-say to you, but there’s some telltale signs that have lead a lot of people to believe that this is probably what they plan to reveal. Firstly, Sony revealed the name of the game earlier in the month of April, and this was followed up by the publishing of a survey held by Sony, asking gamers what they thought of the name, and the concept of the game. Shortly after this, Sony registered two domain names: www.playstationallstarsbattleroyale.com, and www.playstationallstars.com. So far, the sites are blank, and as I write, the servers for the websites are currently “undergoing maintenance” – aka Sony is busy putting the finishing touches to their two websites to be revealed tonight.
If that’s not enough for you, the new Twitter account for the named developers of the project (SuperBot Entertainment) posted a tweet on April 23rd, simply saying “Boot sequence initiated.” So everything points to towards a reveal for this secret game, so keep your eyes peeled tonight to see if we’re right. Does this idea of a Playstation Super Smash Bros excite you, or does it just sound a bit cheesy and not worth your time? Air off in the comments below.
