If anyone remembers the video game Snow Brothers from the arcade, the Amiga or the NES…you might be interested to hear Publisher Clear River Games and Japanese developer TATSUJIN are bringing the brothers back in Snow Bros Wonderland for consoles and PC. For those who DON’T remember, the original game was a Bubble Bobble-like experience where one or two players had to clear each screen of enemies by throwing snowballs (instead of burping bubbles, like lizards do).
Nick and Tom are twin snowmen who crawl out of bed one morning to find their formerly idyllic homeworld of Snow Land has been taken over by Atchich, the Great King Of Evil. That just won’t do, so they get moving across multiple colorful stages, slaying giant monsters with their snow spheres of doom. Though Snow Bros Wonderland can be played alone, it supports up to four snow people simultaneously.
It’s been a long time since the arcade Snow Bros, so Wonderland will be an improvement in a lot of ways. It goes without saying the graphics will be better, but the perspective is now isometric 3D, there’s a greater variety to the gameplay, you can change the clothes the snowmen wear, and more.
“The journey ahead is snow joke,” says Clear River, ” but the brothers have come locked and loaded, armed with an endless supply of ice pellets, which can be used to turn the freezing fiends into snowballs. Gamers can then deploy the snowballs to chain attack entire swaths of icy idiots, bringing peace back to Snow Land and banishing King Atchich forever! Huge and hilarious bosses will try and thwart you every step of the way, and players will need to stay cool and collected as they traverse the ever-changing hazards of Snow Land.”
Snow Bros Wonderland will be released November 28 on PS4, PS5, Switch and PC. Physical versions are planned for the consoles.
