At San Diego Comic Con, Blizzard announced a partnership with Dark Horse Comics to create an Overwatch comic.
First, the 8-page shorts that Blizzard released to hype the game will now come to Dark Horse’s online service as well.
Then, Dark Horse will publish a 100-page Overwatch graphic novel that will debut in April of 2017. At this time, the book doesn’t have a name or a creative team attached. But, the publisher did confirm that this book will tell the story of the original Overwatch strike team.
Finally, Dark Horse will follow that release with “The Art of Overwatch”, an oversized hardcover featuring previously unseen concept art and illustrations. This book will be released in the summer of 2017.
Look for more details about these projects to be revealed at Blizzard’s “Behind the Scenes of Overwatch’s Newest Hero” panel, which will be held at SDCC at 6:30pm on Thursday, July 21 in Room 6A.
