Frank Miller is one of the most legendary comic writers of all time. His classics line Sin City, 300, The Dark Knight Returns, and more have captured the imaginations of many readers. And now, via San Diego Comic Con, he has announced his next big project. He’s going to redo the tale of Superman in the style of what he did in Batman: Year One.
“Through Dark Knight I got to touch about all the [characters] at the DC pantheon, but I never really had my real, meaningful crack at Superman,” Miller told Vulture. “In the case of DC Comics, which has by far and away the strongest and richest mythology, there are those three fundamental pillars they have of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. All of the other characters kind of string along underneath of them, which is wonderful.”
Batman: Year One is one of the essential pieces of Batman mythology, and was so good it even got put into an animated feature film. So imagine what he can do to the origins of Superman.
