Sanctum Gets Free DLC Next Week
Coffee Stain Studios announced today that the first downloadable content to their title, Sanctum, will be available for free next week. The DLC contains new content and updates, as well as a map. Sanctum, a hybrid first person shooter/tower-defense game built with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3, was released April 15th on Steam and Direct2Drive to positive reviews. Rock Paper Shotgun called it “the single best tower defense game I can remember playing since Defense Grid: The Awakening.” Coffee Stain Studios also recently signed a five-year, studio-wide license for Unreal Engine 3.
“We’re constantly working to improve Sanctum with great new content,” Coffee Stain Studios’ lead designer, Oscar Jilsén, says of their first major release. “And we’re eager to get more to our fans.” Coffee Stain Studios plans to release additional content in the weeks and months to come.
The DLC will also launch simultaneously with a demo of the game. “We want as many people as possible to have the chance to play Sanctum. We decided to get a demo out to all players, so they can experience the game before they decide to buy it,” says Jilsén.
