Rule The World Takes Over On Steam
Rule The World, strategy war game in which the player invades tiles to conquer and rule the world, has landed on Steam Greenlight, getting a new trailer alongside the Greenlight campaign launch. You can watch the trailer below. In Rule The World, players will fight multiple enemies each with their own agenda, to rule the world.
The player begins with a single tile in Europe and progresses by capturing more and more tiles to eventually battle the territory leader. Once all the tiles in the territory have been captured the neighboring territories unlock enabling the player to expand their empire in different directions. The early battles are based around Rock, Paper, Scissors. The player begins with 3 suits and each has a strength and weakness over another.
As more and more troop cards get unlocked 2 new suits enter the players hand and the game starts to provide a variation of strengths and weaknesses that the player has to balance. Calculating what cards to use out of the 6 that are dealt per turn, is the core of the game.
The game is set to have a number of features once it’s completely finished, including:
- A clearer leader progression screen.
- Visibly see what leader you currently have and the next one available to you.
- Separated leader upgrade specials that can be applied to the leader, which can boost and add different dynamics to the gameplay.
- 4 types of leader upgrade specials that will appear from the tactics deck.
- Health boost to the leader.
- Enemy Stun card.
- Extra tactic drop.
- Tactic multiplier.
- Adding multiple troop strengths and weaknesses against other suits.
- Adding taunts from the enemy leaders before battle.
- Adding all new sound effects and themes.
The developers have said that a number of features are still currently in development, mentioning:
“We’re in the process of developing leader specials that will appear in the tactics deck. The player will be able to pick just two cards and these can be dropped on to a troop to alter the gameplay that differs from tactics.”
