Room For Rent Receives Revamped Poster
Last November the news broke that Uncork’d Entertainment would be distributing Room For Rent, an upcoming thriller starring Lin Shaye (the Insidious franchise, Ouija), sometime in 2019. We now have more details: the release window is May, and it is getting a theatrical run in addition to its digital premiere.
This is the poster that we saw last November:
Here is the revamped and vastly improved version, with a better tagline:
You can tell what she’s holding now!
The premise is Single White Female in reverse: Shaye plays an isolated widow who rents a room out in her house, and then becomes unhealthily obsessed with the renter. You can pick your roommates, but unfortunately not your landlord.
Lonely widow Joyce rents out a room to make easy money. She meets mysterious drifter Bob and takes him in as a long-term tenant. She becomes obsessed with her much younger guest, making him the object of her deepest romantic fantasies. When a friend’s betrayal derails Joyce’s fantasy world, she seizes control of her own destiny with a deadly mission to finally get what she deserves.
In addition to Shaye, Room For Rent also stars Oliver Rayon, Valeska Miller, and Ryan Ochoa, and its limited theatrical run will begin May 3. If none of the selected theaters are located near you, you’ll be able to watch it on demand starting May 7.
