Rocket League Gets Basketball Hoops Mode
Rocket League is about to get an interesting and exciting new gameplay mode inspired by NBA basketball. Psyonix officially announced today that Rocket League will receive a new gameplay mode called Hoops Mode. This new gameplay mode will be part of a regularly-scheduled game update on April 26. In addition, there will be a new NBA Flag Pack that will feature the logos of all 30 NBA teams represented as in-game flags. This will be available for sale as premium DLC.
The new mode is coming due to the positive reaction from the Rocket League community for the Snow Day Hockey Mode. Hoops Mode features a new dynamic basketball mode that is similar to soccer-meets-driving. There will also be a free new arena called Dunk House. In Hoops Mode, the net can be used as a ramp for the ball. Aerials and wall-play will be key to victory in this mode.
Rocket League’s Hoops mode is a free update for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC via Steam. There will also be an NBA logo flag for all players in this mode. The NBA Flag Pack will cost $1.99 and will give players immediate access to all 30 teams. You can also check out the reveal trailer for the Hoops Mode in the game below.
