Robot Chicken Returns In This Week’s Adult Swim Premieres

As long as there is pop culture media to make fun of, Robot Chicken will always be around…well, Adult Swim ceasing broadcast would throw a wrench in it, but maybe it could continue on somewhere else. It leads this weekend’s list of AS premieres with the brand new episode “May Cause a Squeakquel.”

According to Adult Swim’s official description of the episode, “Robot Chicken takes Mojo Jojo’s side against the Powerpuff Girls; Nightwing demands criminals butt out; Dilbert dies hard with a vengeance… of laughter!” You heard correct — this will be one of those rare episodes where the Robot Chicken himself participates in a sketch. (Or that could actually mean the SHOW is taking Mojo’s side.) The new episode premieres Sunday, March 6 at 12 a.m. ET/PT. Keep in mind an Adult Swim Sunday lasts until 6 AM on Monday.

One day before then, Toonami kicks off with another new episode of the latest AS / Crunchyroll co-production, Shenmue: The Animation. Here’s where we are in the story:

In “Equal,” Ryo is forced to fight Guizhang Chen from Chen Family, to save Nozomi who Mad Angels have taken as a hostage. In hopes that Goro finds Ryo’s secret message, he fights Guizhand Chen, ending with Ryo and Guizhang both wounded and defeated.

I only played Shenmue long enough to unlock the Outrun game and then I wasted all my time with that, so I have no clue where in the game’s plot this puts us. We already got to see a forklift scene last week. This episode premieres Saturday, March 5 at 12:00 a.m. ET/PT.
