Despite what you think might be “brand restrictions”, the upcoming version of Supergirl on CBS is already chalk full of people both good and bad from the DC universe, and many from the Superman universe. An interesting addition to the cast no doubt was the reveal that longtime DC Comics hero Red Tornado would be coming. Then it was revealed he was to be a villain in his first appearance and would be played by Iddo Goldberg, who also will play Red Tornado’s creator T.O. Morrow. Well now, we have our first look at Red Tornado, and it’s an interesting take on the character to say the least.
For those who don’t know, Red Tornado was an android created by T.O. Morrow to kill the Justice League, instead, Tornado joined them, and became a member of the JL for a very long time. He strives to be more human, often looking to the others as an emotional beacon. We’ll have to wait and see whether that Red Tornado comes to be.
“Red Tornado is the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate super weapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City — including the people Supergirl cares about most.”
Supergirl will debut on October 26 on CBS.
