Playing God is about Rachel (Hannah Kasulka) and Micah(Luke Benward), They are a pair of siblings who are con-artist. Usually, they do small-time scamming but something will force them to go big time.
Rachel is in deep trouble because of a mishap of being caught. She will ask for help from her brother because it’s her way out. Trouble will put them in a desperate situation but they had one trick left on their sleeves. All they need is to cover up their sinful ways and act like they are from Heaven.
Playing God is written and directed by Scott Brignac. It will be available on Theater and in demand by August 6, 2021.
The Brother and Sister duo will try to scam a grieving Billionaire who wants to find God. He has been touring around the world to have his questions answered. I mean all wanted a spiritual awakening.
They will pretend to be Angels and stage miracles. In one of the scenes, they had someone free some birds from the cage to make an illusion of a miraculous apparition. It will be interesting to see what other tricks they will try to pull off.
Ben (Alan Tudyk) is a billionaire, but his longing for spirituality made him vulnerable. He is also too nice to give away his trust. I can’t help but feel sorry about Ben because he is just searching for his purpose.
The siblings will ask help from their mentor (Michael McKean) to join their heist. He shall be Playing God, pun intended. They will use elaborate yet realistic tricks to make Ben believe he is experiencing miracles. Are they going to leave this lonely impressionable man penniless?
Religious people who are looking for a purpose had been vulnerable to scammers. So that makes this more grounded in realism.
