Uncork’d Entertainment has another release coming soon, and unlike most of their fanciful offerings, this one’s grounded in reality…harsh reality. The Playground is about a real incident of teen violence that took place in a small Polish community.
Final day of school in a small Polish town. It’s the very last chance for 12-Year-Old Gabrysia to tell her classmate that she had fallen in love with him. She sets up a secret meeting and blackmails her love interest to show up. But what was supposed to be an intimate talk spins out of control and this seemingly normal day in life of three ordinary elementary school students culminates in shocking and terrifying events.
Today’s moral: don’t blackmail people.
The Playground was written and directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski, and stars Michalina Swistun and Nicolas Przygoda. It will be released by Uncork’d a few days from now, December 8, on VOD platforms.
