AI: The Somnium Files

Physical Version Of AI: The Somnium Files Delayed By One Week

We’ve already waited through multiple delays for AI: The Somnium Files….what’s seven more days? If you don’t know, this is the new game from Kotaro Uchikoshi, creator of the Zero Escape trilogy. Its original date of release was July 24, and it probably would have been better served there than in the crowded fall release schedule it’s currently appearing in.

But if you can find time among all these anticipated, high-profile games to play this adventure detective game, you should. You play as Kaname Date, a man on the hunt for a mysterious serial killer. Because it’s the future, Date not only has the ability to investigate crime scenes and interrogate witnesses…he can probe into their dreams, among other special abilities.

It’s these dreams that the “Somnium Files” are made of. Once you enter a person’s dream, you have six minutes to interact with the environment and derive information from the person’s mind. Figure out ways to break literal mental locks and go deep into the subconscious to discover the truth.

The release delay only affects the physical versions of AI: The Somnium Files…the digital versions will go on sale as scheduled, September 17, for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Seven days later the physical boxes will be made available, both plain and Special Agent Edition. The PC version will have no physical edition and will come out on time.

The mind never lies…

In a near-future Tokyo, Special Agent Kaname Date is on the case of a mysterious serial killer. Date must investigate crime scenes as well as dreams on the hunt for clues. From the mind of Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape series director), with character design by the Yusuke Kozaki (NO MORE HEROES, Fire Emblem series), a thrilling neo-noir detective adventure is about to unfold.
