Phil Spencer Gives Update For Crackdown

Crackdown is a very curious franchise for Microsoft. It’s first game was attached with a demo of Halo 3, no doubt to get a bunch of sales. And yet, a few issues aside, the game was a hit amongst fans. It sold very well, and thus got a sequel, which didn’t do as well. However, fans still wanted another title, one that felt like the Crackdown game from before.

Fans more or less got their answer when Microsoft announced last year that Crackdown would return via the Xbox One. Aside from that, there honestly hasn’t been much news. Fans aren’t sure when they’re going to get news about the hopefully good title. Taking the initiative, one fan took to Twitter and asked Xbox President Phil Spencer about Crackdown, and whether we might see (or hear) something about it at E3. His reply is as follows:

“@vittorionzoloo @PNF4LYFE Sorry, not announcing what games are where right now but Crackdown is making great progress.”

That’s cryptic. To be fair, it’s not unsurprising that Spencer can’t reveal too much both in terms of the game and whether it’ll be shown at E3 with the event so close now. However, it would’ve been nice if we had gotten more. Guess we’ll just have to continue to wait. Crackdown is being developed for the Xbox One and will be released later on.
