Outbreak: Endless Nightmares To Be Expanded In 2022
The survival horror series Outbreak launched its latest installment last May on consoles and PC. Today developer Drop Dead Studios announced that’s not the end — they’re currently working on two expansions to the game that will be ready sometime next year.
Drop Dead has been patching the game to pave the way for the expansions — the most recent version of Outbreak: Endless Nightmares has revamped first and third person camera controls, performance optimizations tailored to each version of the game, reduced loading times, revised sound effects and updated frame rates. The expansions, titled Susurrations of the Nexus and Vivification of the Apocalypse, are targeted for Winter 2022 and Spring 2022 respectively.
In Outbreak: Endless Nightmares, it’s the zombie apocalypse (again), and your main concern is to just survive. From your central hub in an abandoned hospital, venture out into randomly generated environments to scavenge for supplies and ammo. You’ll need both as the zombies will be hunting for your brains, and the environment won’t be kind to you either. Avoid hazards, dodge monsters, and find journals to learn more about the story.
You can also easily catch up with the Outbreak series thanks to the Outbreak Collection for PS4, which contains the first five games in one package: the original, Epidemic, Lost Hope, The Nightmare Chronicles, and The New Nightmare. Limited Run Games happens to be selling a physical version of Outbreak Collection this month — preorders close August 15.
