Onmyoji: The World Announced With Trailer
During a press conference this week, NetEase Games announced they’ve been working on a Japanese fantasy RPG called Onmyoji: The World. A spinoff of the Onmyoji series, the game is set to debut at an unspecified time in the US, Europe and all Asian territories.
Onmyoji: The World is set in Japan’s Heian-Kyo period, specifically within and around the city of Kyoto. Dark forces have invaded the area and threaten the destruction of the city. You as the Onmyoj, are tasked with saving it. As you travel the landscape you’ll encounter friends and enemies, both human and non-human. Yes, there are yokai, and a big part of the game involves humanity’s relationship with them at this time.
Onmyoji: The World transports players into a non-traditional Japanese fantasy world that focuses on the coexistence between humans and yokai with immersive battles, vast and great social capabilities, and an adventurous world to journey through, Onmyoji: The World will bring a world filled with exciting gaming experiences. In Onmyoji: The World, players will take on the role of an Onmyoj where a new land awaits filled with countless adventures and stories. Fight side by side with partners to save this beautiful world from the cruel forces that seek to overtake it.
Here’s where I’d tell you what systems Onmyoji: The World is appearing on, but….for some reason NetEase has not revealed this at all. We searched their Facebook, Twitter and official website for the game, and nothing mentions if this is a PC, console or mobile title, or some combination of the three. Maybe we’ll find that out later. Anyway, here’s the trailer.
